An Atlantic County man has been arrested and has drug charges pending against him after a traffic stop earlier this week, police said on Saturday morning.
On Thursday, December 11th, at 7:00pm, units from the Stafford Township Police Department conducted a traffic stop of Elvin J. Cruz, 26, of Artic Avenue in Atlantic City.
Cruz was allegedly shipping several ounces of Cocaine into Stafford Township to distribute.
The unit secured a court authorized search warrant for Cruz’s vehicle, which was later found to be uninsured, unregistered, and displayed fake license plates. Cocaine and an undisclosed quantity of money were found. A search of his residence yielded more cocaine and cash.
Cruz is charged with 2nd degree Possession of Intent to Distribute Cocaine, 3rd Degree Possession of CDS Cocaine, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.
Cruz was transported to the Stafford Township Police Department for processing and was released on a summons pending a future appearance in the Ocean County Superior Court.
